What is the Political Courage Test?

Presidential Election 2012 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
True Pro-life legislation does not make exceptions. I am Personhood Pro-Life (Pro-Life from fertilization to natural death) Abortion violates the Constitution and needs to be addressed accordingly.

All reductions should target waste and fraud first. Defense reductions only for inefficiencies, not for military pay, or the equipment and weapons required for proper readiness,
With our current ridiculous system, some decreases or eliminations are warranted. With the adoption of the Fair tax, ALL these other various taxes could, should, and would be eliminated.
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
While the temptation is to say Yes, it becomes an equal protection issue. Many of us know where the improper influence is coming from, and I would support all measures to require real-time full disclosure of all contributions. Let's not dictate who can give, but have the ability to see who is giving, and let the public decide what influence these people and groups may have on future policy.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
No Do you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
Yes Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of unemployment benefits?
Yes Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief?
Our economy was hit very hard. Hard enough that many simply could not find jobs. Since the system, good or bad, was already in place, it made sense in this instance to extend the benefits for a time. A true "incentive" for businesses would be the complete elimination of the various taxes they pay, with the adoption of the Fair Tax. Tax relief for all businesses, without the government mandating the purpose of the relief, should be reviewed until such time that the Fair Tax replaces these other taxes.
No Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
Education is important, but it is not part of the Federal Government's Constitutional roles. Return full control of education to the States, or preferably the local level, and stop sending education funds on a value-diminishing round-trip excursion to DC and back.
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Yes Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
Drill baby, drill. The U.S. has a plethora of domestic energy supplies just waiting to be tapped-in to. Green technology is a wonderful, but often expensive choice for a vehicle and should not be mandated by the government. The current administration's own statements acknowledge that green technology will not be fully up and running until 2035. We need affordable, domestic energy of all kinds now.
Yes Do you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan?
No Do you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?
Yes Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
Any timetables should not be public for manipulation and planning by the enemy. All decisions to withdraw or reduce troop strengths should be based on the advisement of our military commanders, intelligence community, and foreign policy advisers. While any conflict can result in casualties, and I do not take that lightly, making military decisions based on emotions or political perception is simply not an option. Our security, economy, and sovereignty would all be considered prior to any conflict, and we must know who we are fighting or supporting as a result of our actions.
No Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
Any U.S. citizen who has not been convicted of a violent felony should maintain their right under the Second Amendment to bear arms. I do support not allowing Mexican drug-lords to purchase American guns.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
No Should individuals be required to purchase health insurance, as mandated in the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
We need Tort Reform, not socialized medicine.
Yes Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
No Do you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin?
Yes Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police?
The task of enforcing our Federal Immigration Laws, until the border is 100% secure, is daunting. States that are willing to be part of this effort should be encouraged, not sued.
No Do you support same-sex marriage?
Marriage, by historical definition, is one man/one woman. We should not change that long-standing definition simply because a small percentage of society got loud on the issue. Analogy: Hydrogen peroxide is H2O2, water is H2O. If a small group of scientist decided that since H2O2 is very close to being the same as H2O that they would call Hydrogen Peroxide "special water", would that make sense? Equal Protection means we can ALL get married according to what Marriage, by definition, is. So every man is Free to marry a willing woman. Every woman is Free to marry a willing man.
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
The system, which never should have existed in a democratic republic, was robbed. Through no fault of the public, this has been a federally mandated Ponzi Scheme. Many have paid into this scheme and are now dependent on it. We must review ways to carefully and responsibly phase out this program over several years. Until this phase-out plan is created, fraud needs to be the target.
My first priority is to address the Unconstitutional murder of our most vulnerable citizens by abortion, by all legal means necessary. ? Tyranny is when a President uses powers he was never granted to mandate things for which he has no Constitutional justification or authority. Leadership is when a President uses the full authority of the office to enforce that which has been written but neglected, without fear that 12 opinions to the contrary means the fight is over.? Second priority is a Border Summit for the immediate securing of our borders. Third priority: spending cuts, freeze new regulations/review old.
